Having guests over for dinner? Or treating the family to some delicious fish? Then a delicious salmon recipe could be just the thing for you.

Hooked offers a great salmon recipe that is both easy to make and tastes delicious.

Steamed salmon with vegetables on the grill

For 4 people

Time: 30 min.

Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets
  • 300g fresh green beans
  • 300g cherry tomatoes
  • 1 bunch dill
  • 4 corn on the cob

Here's how to do it

  1. Clean the corn cobs of leaves and threads. Boil for 4 minutes and drain.

  2. Tear off a large piece of tin foil and place one salmon fillet, a handful of tomatoes, a handful of beans and a small bunch of dill in the center. Season with a little salt and pepper. Then close the packet. Repeat until you have four.

  3. Place your salmon parcels on the heated grill and cook for 12 minutes. The corn on the cob only needs 5 minutes, so wait until the last 5 minutes of the salmon cooking time.

  4. Serve your steamed salmon with a delicious piece of flüte, or eat them as they are, with a good knob of butter and a little salt on the corn on the cob - enjoy!

A salmon recipe that works every time

The above is a great example of a salmon recipe that works every time and tastes fantastic. This dish is especially good for the warm summer months, when you can enjoy it in the garden with family or friends.

However, you're not limited to the summer months. This recipe with salmon can be made all year round, as the grill can easily be fired up during the winter months. The dish more or less makes itself, so only the corn needs to be turned every now and then.

However, if you don't feel like firing up the grill during the cold winter months, the salmon recipe can also be made in the oven at 200 degrees. However, the best results are achieved if you cook the salmon parcels on the grill.

Buy local for your salmon recipe

When making a great salmon recipe, you can easily go to the supermarket and buy some salmon fillets, which will taste great in the dish. However, it will be better for your local environment and far more fresh and delicious if you go to the local fishmonger and buy your salmon when making a salmon recipe.

This way, you ensure that your fishmonger can survive, and you'll also get a better taste experience. So, when you want to make a recipe with salmon or other delicious fish, head to your nearest fishmonger. An example could be Amager Fiskehus if you live in Copenhagen or the surrounding area.

A tip to ensure you bring home the freshest salmon is to assess whether the eyes of the salmon are clear, the gills are blood red and the smell is fresh.

Once you've brought your fresh salmon home, it's important to keep it as cool as possible and cook it the same day you bought it. Once cooked, salmon will keep for 1-2 days in the fridge and should not be reheated after refrigeration.

A wealth of benefits with salmon

Salmon is a fish that is rich in vitamins, minerals and healthy fatty acids, not to mention it tastes amazing.

To give you an example, salmon contains plenty of vitamin D, which most people can lack after a long winter. Vitamin D is incredibly important for our immune system, muscles, bones, nerves and circulation. Eating fatty fish, such as salmon, will provide you with the vitamin D you need.

The good and unsaturated fatty acids that salmon contains are also good for your heart. Salmon is rich in Omega-3 fatty acids and other good nutrients, all of which are important for keeping your body healthy and strong.

Salmon is also high in protein, which helps you stay full for a long time and is also used to rebuild your muscles after a workout.

Eat more fish with salmon

It is recommended that the average adult eats 350g of fish per week, 200g of which is fatty fish, such as salmon. 350g of fish per week can be equivalent to eating fish twice a week as a main course, or several times a week as a side dish. However, it's important to vary between different fish so that your weekly fish intake doesn't only consist of salmon. However, you can easily include salmon once a week in many different versions.

Salmon can be eaten at any time of the day. You can start your day with a healthy meal by eating salmon with eggs and vegetables.

For lunch, you can mince the salmon into mince and use it for delicious fish cakes or a patty in a burger. At Hooked you can get a delicious salmon burger with Faroese salmon deep-fried with our special Hooked spices.

For dinner, you can eat salmon in whole fillets, which can be prepared in a variety of ways. In addition to steaming your salmon, you can also choose to roast or grill it. You can also use salmon in dishes such as lasagna, salads or in other pasta and stir-fry dishes.
