Recipe for pasta dish with shrimp, garlic and chili

For 4 people.

Approx. 30 minutes

Ingredients:

500g prawns, preferably tiger prawns

1½ dl olive oil

10 cloves of garlic

1 tsp sugar

2 tsp paprika

500 g pasta, such as linguini or spaghetti

1 shallot

½ fresh chili

100 g butter

1 lemon

1 bunch parsley

salt and pepper

Here's how to do it:

  1. First, the prawns for your pasta dish need a bit of flavor. Therefore, you need to make a marinade that the prawns can absorb some flavor from. Mix olive oil, garlic, sugar and paprika in a bowl and toss the prawns in it. Set aside.

  2. Cook the pasta as directed on the packaging.

  3. Heat a frying pan to medium-high heat. Finely chop the shallots and chili and sauté in half of the butter in the pan.

  4. Once the onions have turned glossy, add the prawns and cook for just a few minutes on each side - just until they are slightly pink.

  5. Add the pasta to the pan and toss. Add the remaining butter in small lumps and once the butter has melted, season your shrimp pasta dish with the juice of one lemon, salt and pepper and toss with chopped parsley before serving.

Shrimp pasta dish for any occasion

This pasta dish with prawns is great because it's relatively quick to make, requires little preparation and tastes delicious. Therefore, it's also a great dish to make if you're having guests over.

Of course, we recommend that you go to your local fishmonger and buy the prawns from him, as you will get the best prawns in a good size - fresh. Plus, you'll be supporting your local community, which will keep your town thriving and alive. If you don't have a fishmonger nearby, you can head to the coastal towns or you can buy your prawns for your prawn pasta dish at the supermarket.

Of course, you can also use frozen prawns, but the best results are achieved if you use fresh prawns.

Find the nearest fishmonger

No matter where you are in the country, there is almost always a fishmonger reasonably close to you. We are so lucky in Denmark that there is plenty of coast and sea to be found, and therefore plenty of opportunities for fishing.

For example, if you live in the Holbæk area, you can stop by Kystfiskerne, which provides fresh fish on the counter every single day. You're sure to find fresh prawns here, which you can use to make a pasta dish with prawns.

In addition, your local fishmonger can also help you with guidance on how to prepare other types of seafood, such as boiled cod or salmon lasagna.

If you don't feel like preparing fish yourself, you can always stop by one of Hooked's many restaurants. Here, the menu offers plenty of delicious fish in many different forms. Find out more about our fish-loving universe on our Instagram.
